La fontaine romaine d'Arthenas
L'ancienne voie romaine Besançon-Turin passait par le village d'Arthenas, ce qui pourrait expliquer la présence d'une fontaine romaine.
Pour accéder à cette cache vous pouvez vous garer à coté de l'église, puis rejoindre à pied la fontaine qui est un peu à l'écart du village. Il y a deux chemins d'accès, avec une aire de pic-nique sur les lieux de la cache.
Pour la petite histoire, l'origine du nom d'Arthenas pourrait venir du nom d'homme gallo-romain "Artinus" qui est un dérivé du mot gaulois "artos" à rapprocher du grec "arktos" qui signifiait ours.

Roman fountain Arthenas
The old Roman road of Besançon in Turin passed through the village of Arthenas, could this possibly explain the presence of a Roman fountain.
To access this cache you can park next to the church, then walk to the fountain which is a little away from the village. There are two paths, a picnic area at the site of the cache.
Historically, the origin of the name Arthenas could come from man's name Gallo-Roman "Artinus" which is derived from the Gallic word "artos" closer to the Greek "arktos" which meant bears.
