Not at the posted coordinates. NOTE: The cache named "Park It!" was hidden a while after this one, and it's a bit closer to this final than is generally allowed. That's not a big deal to me, but solver/finders of this one will want to know that the final is pretty close to that other cache.
Davis Dresser, pen name Brett Halliday (among many others), created private detective Michael Shayne in the 1930s. The first book, “Dividend on Death,” was turned down by 21 publishers before finally being printed. 49 more books followed written by Dresser, then 20 more ghost-written by others. Shayne would go on to appear on tv, radio, comic books and films. Among those who portrayed Shayne onscreen was Hugh Beaumont, who would later play Ward Cleaver, TV father to Wally and Beaver. Lloyd Nolan, Richard Denning and Jeff Chandler have also portrayed Shayne.
As with many detectives of the hard-boiled mid-20th-century school, the covers of the paperbacks could be counted upon to be interestingly lurid, and one hoped that these books COULD be judged by their covers.
