My wife Pooh-Pooh and I love Catalina State Park. You can walk, bike, and gallop miles of good trails through beautiful scenary. Stay overnight in a comfortable camping area. It's a dog-friendly place you can explore year-round. Visit the following link (azstateparks.com) for more information on this and other Arizona State Parks.
Your objective today will be a little different from the standard "follow the arrow to ground zero" geocache. I will accompany you and be your guide on a short walk through an interesting area of Catalina State Park. At some point you will calculate a short waypoint projection to find the small cache. For the most part, the tour is on established trails which involve moderate changes in elevation.
I'm sure many of you have visited museums and other attractions that offer self-guided tours using recorded directions on headsets. This cache has a similar feature. Whether you like it or not, you will listen to me on an mp3 audio file for directions needed to navigate trails to the cache. The link below goes to the necessary file. Upload the file onto your favorite mp3 device and go to the posted coordinates. From there, start the audio file and I will join you and guide you on your way.
At the end of our sojourn, you will calculate a short waypoint projection to the cache. I hope you enjoy the walk, and I promise not to sing or tell stupid jokes.

You will use this audio file to follow my directions along a route about half a mile long. Walk at a leisurely pace, about 2 and a half miles per hour.
Oops, almost forgot to tell you that entrance to the park is $7 as of December 2012. But as any local will tell you, it's well worth the bucks.
I stole the idea for this audio cache from one I hunted in Chicago. A brilliant geocacher named mgbmusic constructed GC3E3HR, a celebration of IrishCubsFan's 2000th find. I highly recommend it if you have a couple hours on a layover at Ohare.
