The cache is atop a volcano with splendid views. The volcano is long in shape so the walk involves a gradual climb up to the ridge and a relaxing ridge walk to the peak.
If you are familiar with my volcano caches this is the easiest and safest cache after The Raven.
This cache is suitable for all but the youngest children, for a volcano in the north of the island the covering of rocks is only sparse. Although walking boots are preferable the walk can be managed in trainers.
The problem of the terrain for this walk lies only with the terrain between the parking spot and the base of the volcano. I have recorded a trailhead that eliminates the worst of these problems, from the parking go straight to the trailhead and follow the, very old, 4X4 track that winds up to the ridge.
The terrain on the volcano itself is excellent, with only scattered loose rocks with plenty of earth between to place your feet. The climb is gradual with the only steepness approaching the final peak, but as there is a covering of bedrock here it creates no problem.
As with all walking in Fuerteventura, because of the rocky terrain, ALWAYS look where you place your feet, if you wish to admire the scenery, stop walking and plant your feet securely.
