Geocache Description:

Multi-point cache in the Greenbelt

The cache was an instant coffee jar for the first 18 years, but is now a steel ammuntion box. It is lightly camouflaged with a bit of broken terracotta pipe and a bit of tree bark. To aid in finding in the winter, at the time of this writing (October 2020) there are two pieces of pink trail marker tape nearby. If you aim from one (more in the open) across the other (more in the shrubs) the line will cross the cache location. I didn't want to mark the location directly, to reduce the chance of an accidental find.

Now, how to get there: This is a multi-point cache. The posted coordinates are those of the first redirect. The redirects are all attached to tree trunks, at about eye level, on the side facing away from the trail. They are made to be very durable; if you don't find one, keep looking; this being the woods the GPS reading may not be all that accurate and you may have to check a bunch of trees.

The tree that the first redirect is attached to has died. This makes the tag easy to see against the bark-less wood, but it will have to be moved to another tree eventually.

You can expect to walk about five kilometres total, on some of my favourite trails in this area. Except for the distance, this would be a perfectly fine outing to do with small children.
