Sedmé zastavení série SBK Vás přivádí na kraj města Benátky nad Jizerou, nedaleko lidové hvězdárny. V letech 1599–1600 působil na zámku v Benátkách známý astronom Tycho de Brahe. Tento astronomický velikán zde již tehdy prosadil stavbu hvězdárny. Z důvodu jeho odvolání císařem Rudolfem II. do Prahy však tyto práce nebyly nikdy dokončeny. Další významnou události na zdejším zámku, bylo setkání Tychona de Brahe a Johanese Keplera. K výročí setkání těchto dvou slavných astronomů byla v roce 1980 otevřena lidová hvězdárna. Pokud budete mít více času, určitě se projděte po městě. Určitě za zhlédnutí stojí nově zrekonstruované náměstí v Nových Benátkách, nebo zámek a jeho zahrady. Vzniklo v místě prastarého osídlení při křižovatce obchodních stezek. Prvním centrem byl hrad Dražice (založen před rokem 1264), který dnes připomíná pouze zřícenina věže a zbytky zdí a leží asi 3 km severovýchodně od Benátek.
Středověké město Nové Benátky bylo založeno v letech 1343 až 1346. Zámecký kostel se zaniklým klášterem pochází z roku 1349. Nejstarší renesanční část zámku vznikla mezi lety 1527 a 1572 a je ozdobena psaníčkovými a velmi cennými figurálními sgrafity. Po několika dalších stavebních fázích byla výstavba zámku do dnešní podoby ukončena v polovině 18. století. Mezi nejznámější obyvatele zámku patřili - purkrabí z Donína, dánský hvězdář Tycho Brahe, generál jízdy z třicetileté války Jan z Werthu, hrabě Ignác z Klenové, pražský arcibiskup Petr Příchovský z Příchovic a rodina hraběte Thun-Hohensteina a skladatel Bedřich Smetana.
Těch zajímavostí by se našlo jistě i více, ze současnosti např. golfové hřiště na druhé straně města, nebo i jiná sportoviště a nakonec i několik povedených keší věnovaných sportu, ale hra čeká, ne?

The seventh stop SBK series brings you to the edge of the city of Venice Jizerou, near the observatory's. In the years 1599-1600 he worked at the castle in Venice famous astronomer Tycho de Brahe. If you have more time, be sure to walk around the city. Definitely worth a visit newly renovated Square in Nové Benátky, or the castle and its gardens. It was established at the ancient settlement at the junction of trade routes.The first center was Dražice Castle (founded before 1264), which now resembles only the ruins of the tower and the remains of walls and lies about 3 km northeast of Benátky nad Jizerou. The medieval city of New Venice was established in the years 1343-1346. Renaissance oldest part of the castle was founded between 1527 and 1572 and is adorned with the letter type and very valuable figural graffiti. After a few more construction phases in the construction of the castle its present appearance ended in the mid-18th century. Among the most famous inhabitants of the castle were - burgrave of Donín, the Danish astronomer Tycho Brahe, the general ride of the Thirty Years War, Jan z Werth, Ignác from Klenová, Archbishop of Prague Petr Příchovský from Příchovice and the family of Count Thun-Hohenstein and composer Bedrich Smetana. Those places would be found and certainly more in the present example, a golf course on the other side of town, or even other sports and ultimately successful takes several caches dedicated to the sport, but the game is waiting for you?
