Geocache Description:

Razodetje, Nostredamusove napovedi, panika pred letom 2000… Drugi prisegajo, da je sedaj pravi čas. Za konec sveta? Za prihod naših »bratov« iz globin vesolja? Za samo še en dolgočasen predpraznični dan? Kdo bi vedel…

So imeli Maji prav?

Odštevat usodnih 24 ur do konca tega (majevskega) dne. Ko nas ne bo več. Ali pa bomo. Zgolj čakali na naslednji konec sveta …

Srečno ...

Is this the end of humanity?

Many speak of the end of the world these days. Some laugh at that, and some of us have survived it several times already. The Revelation, the Prophecies of Nostradamus, the Y2K panic ... Others claim now is the time. For the end of the world? For the arrival of our »brothers« from the depths of the universe? Or for yet another boring day before the festive season? Who knows ...

Were the Maya right? Might this really be our last meeting? Will we be joined, with a minute-or-two delay by a raw geocaching recruit who has just taken his/her vows? Anyway, this event is not to be missed! And if, thousands of years ago, a court writer got tired, laid his hammer and chisel aside and said »let's call it a day«, then nothing will happen. Millions of boxes will continue to lie in the bushes of every corner of the world and we will ardently continue to look for them. There will be lights on X-mas trees, mulled wine, scents all around, and warmth in the hearts.

Whatever the case. We'll be caught in a logical pitfall. Unique paradox. And if, after thousands of generations, we are the ones to have the privilege to witness the end of the Blue Marble, then we will not be able to log it. If, on the other hand, the end of the world does not happen and all the predictions are merely a load of waffle by a crazy mind, then we will have hard time logging this geoevent, as the purpose of the meeting – the end of the world itself – will not have been completed. Well. Unparalleled paradox. A true catch-22 situation.

All curious geocachers shall meet on 21st December 2012 at 6.59 a. m. That is, exactly one minute before the beginning of the Mayan 21st December 2012. If in the following minute nothing happens and we are still surrounded by the festive lights of Ljubljana, rushing people and numerous expectations, then we will sign the logbook, give each other a hug (if someone really has a strong wish to do so) and join the rushing multitude, each heading towards his or her own dull chores of the day. Ready to count down the remaining 24 hours till the end of this (Mayan) day. When we cease to exist. Or maybe not, and if so, we'll continue waiting for the next end of the world ...

Good luck ...
