Geocache Description:

Located on a ridge above the Shannon Lake Loop. Fairly steep terrain(not children friendly) ...amazing views! ...bring a camera!

Over the last year we have seemed to have a rash of micros in the woods ...there are a few people that seem to love hiding them pesky micros ...this is my special way of saying THANKS! It is a cleverly hidden and I can see how this one might drive you crazy, but there are two good points ...it's out on the top of a ridge where you get great GPS reception, and even if you don't find it you'll be rewarded with an amazing view!  This is just off a loop that is one of my favorite hiking trails in the Kelowna area. The starting point for the hike is easily reached by driving to Paramount Drive (N 49 52.299 W 119 36.821), where you hike up towards the water reservoir and then along the creek, or drive to Shannon Hills Place (N 049 52.336 W 119 36.612), where there is a path between two houses that leads to the mountain. Turn right down the path and follow it until you reach a small path the heads up the mountain (N 049 52.425 W 119 36.404). The trail is fairly steep in spots and has loose rocks in many places ...it can be very slippery when wet, snowy, or icy! When you get to the top of the ridge you'll have to go off the main trail ...I found several animal trails that took me to the cache area, although you may need to do a bit of bushwhacking. This is a micro ...don't forget to bring your own pen/pencil.
