Geocache Description:

Cache #1

This is the first geocache I have created. I enjoy caches which challenge you to think, and it is my hope you will be at least somewhat challenged by the setup. You should find the cache pretty darn quick but...?? If you are unable to claim the smiley here, please post your experience. In my mind, DNF's are a motivation which cause me to ponder, wonder, and return. Good stuff.

The cache is named after my parents' deceased dog, Giggles. She died 17 NOV 2012 and is now buried in the back yard. She was a good ol' family Collie. She would have loved to have guests visiting this cache as she was super friendly. In fact, she was very quiet and rarely barked. Because of this, I loved teasing and roughing her up as we played together. She would get so excited and run around the yard barking at me.

One of my favorite memories of her involves a pair of swallows which nested in the yard. They would constantly dive-bomb her head. She loved to jump and snap at them as they flew past. Also, one warm, sunny summer day, I decided to cut her hair. Despite growling and avoiding trimmings from others, she laid there and mostly enjoyed the fur reduction. I remember this because her hair floated around the yard for the next week. In Giggles' memory, please include in your log a family appropriate joke. I love to tell jokes to my students, even if I'm the only one laughing.

If you have trouble and become frustrated, simply take stock of what you know, tell yourself a joke or two (or as many as necessary), and then charlie mike (continue mission) onward toward completion of the task at hand. Find some!! Get some!!

*This cache is located on my parents' property (with permission) but very near the border with our neighbor to the west. Please do not wander to the west (best avoid the longer grass and field). The parents are pretty friendly (usually, ha ha) so just park your vehicle on the side of the road and get at it. If you see someone peeking out the window, just give a quick honk and/or wave hello. Oh, and if a brown turd with legs comes down to bark at you, no worries. He (Festus) is a barking fool.

You may need a partner in crime to retrieve and replace this cache. If you have real trouble and cannot replace, mention it in your post and my brosef will do so. With snow, this cache may be a little more tricky as it can get pretty deep. However, with intestinal fortitude you will be successful. Furthermore, I suggest bringing along some extra water to help quench your thirst as you search. Hydration is vital to success.
