Das Ragenhaus war ursprünglich ein "Küchenmeierhof", d.h. zuständig für die Bestellung von Küche und Tisch der bischöflichen Hofhaltung. Stephan Wenzel kaufte das Haus 1670 und ließ es mit einem schönen Innenhof im Renaissancestil umbauen. Danach folgte ein langsamer Abstieg, bis es 1815 Sitz des Kreisamtes wurde und Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts Kaseren; deswegen wird es im Volksmund noch immer hin und wieder als "Schulhauskaserne" bezeichnet. Schließlich ging es an die Gemeinde Bruneck und beherbergte bedürftigte Familien. Erst 1982 wurde es grundlegend saniert und der Innenhof überdacht. Heute ist es Sitz der Musikschule Bruneck und der stimmungsvolle Innenhof dient als Veranstaltungort für Konzerte und Lesungen.

 

Casa Ragen

Originariamente maso "Küchenmaierhof" del vescovo di Bressanone. Data l'immediata vicinanza della chiesa ("Kirche"), l'amministratore si fa chiamare Kirchmair. Nel XVI secolo la proprietà della casa passa alla famiglia Wenzl, la quale le conferisce l'attuale stile architettonico. Dal 1851 la casa è in possesso del Comune, dapprima utilizzata come scuola, successivamente come asilo e caserma. I lavori di restauro e la copertura del cortile interno sono stati ultimati nel 1985.

The Ragenhaus

Originally the kitchen dairy farm of the Bishop of Brbcen. The administrator (Mair) gave himself the name Kirchmair on account of the proximity of the house to the church (Kirche). In the 16th century the Wenzl family took possession of the house and provided it with its present structural appearance in the form of a three-wing building with a rectangular core and a splendid inner courtyard in Renaissance style. Since 1851 it has been under the ownership of the municipal council, first as a school then as a day nursery and later as a barracks. The complete restoration with the roofing over of the inner courtyard was finished in 1985.
