Geocache Description:

Septième d’une série de 9 caches, dédiées à Tintin et « L’affaire Tournesol » qui se déroule, en partie, en Suisse.
Seventh cache of a serie of 9, related with the Tintin in « The Calculus Affair » which part of it takes place in Switzerland.

Ceci est la septième d’une série de 8 caches (+1 bonus), dédiées au célèbre reporter Tintin et à son aventure dans « L’affaire Tournesol » qui se déroule, en partie, en Suisse.

L’aventure continue à Nyon. Le lendemain de l’explosion à la route de St-Cergue, Tintin comprend de plus en plus l’importance de la découverte de Tournesol. Il s’agit d’une invention qui peut être utilisée par l’armée, ce qui pousse la Bordurie et la Syldavie à courir pour cette technologie. C’est dans la rue de Rive que Tintin se promène avec le capitaine Haddock en réfléchissant aux événements récents.

« L’affaire Tournesol » a été publiée par Hergé en 1956. L’un des plus grands dessinateurs de BD du XXe siècle avait choisi la Suisse, et plus particulièrement Nyon, pour pimenter l’intrigue de la disparition du professeur Tournesol. Ce personnage est d’ailleurs inspiré par le scientifique Auguste Piccard, grand-père de Bertrand Piccard lui-même amateur de Tintin!

Curiosité: Depuis plusieurs années, la Municipalité de Nyon agit pour un développement durable. Elle vous propose des événements gratuits, ouverts à toutes et à tous, pour vivre et vous investir dans un esprit d’ouverture, de convivialité et de respect de l’environnement. En 2012, elle a décidé de rassembler ces événements sous un nouveau label:

Tintin in Switzerland 7 – Rive, Nyon

This is the seventh cache of a serie of 8 (+ 1 bonus), with the theme of the famous reporter Tintin and his adventure in « The Calculus Affair » which part of it takes place in Switzerland.

The adventure goes on in Nyon. The day after the explosion at St-Cergue Street, Tintin understands the importance of professor Calculus findings. It is an invention that can be used in military purposes, whose attraction has already put Borduria and Syldavia on the run for this technology. It is in Rive Street that Tintin walks with captain Haddock while reflecting on recent events.

« The Calculus Affair » was published by Hergé in 1956. One of 20^th century biggest comics author had chosen Switzerland and specially Nyon, to spice up the plot of professor Calculus kidnap. This character was inspired by the famous scientist Auguste Piccard, great-father of Bertrand Piccard, himself Tintin’s fan.

Curiosity: For several years, Nyon’s municipality is for sustainable development. It offers free events, open to everyone, in order to live and invest with an open spirit of friendliness and respect for the environment. In 2012 it has decided to join this events throug a new label:
