Pfarrkirche St. Christina
Die Pfarrkirche zum hl. Antonius Abt und zur hl. Christina ist ein kirchliches Gebäude in St. Christina in Gröden im Grödnertal in Südtirol in Italien.
Lage
Sie ist nahe dem frühgeschichtlichen Höhenweg „Troi Paian“ gelegen und ist die älteste Seelsorgeeinrichtung des Tales. Die Kirche befindet sich oberhalb Triech. Der Haupteingang ist durche eine Steinbrücke erreichbar; diese wurde 1916 mit dem Bau der Grödnerbahntrasse erbaut. Der Haupteingang des Gebäudes ist richtung Westen gerichtet, dazu finden wir noch ein Nord- und ein Südeingang. Am östlichen Ende der Kirche ist eine kleine Totenkapelle zu finden; wenn man von dieser weiter östlich geht, so kann man durch das Tor, mit der Inschrift „Resurecturis“ gehen, womit man auf dem Kirchplatz kommt. Die Kirche ist umgeben vom Friedhof.
Geschichte
Am Ende des 12. Jahrhunderts dürfte hier eine der Heiligen Christina von Bolsena geweihte Kapelle gestanden haben. Von der romanischen Kirche, die in einem päpstlichen Ablassbrief von 1342 erwähnt ist, ist noch der Glockenturm bis zum Dachansatz erhalten. Später wurde der Charakter durch Um- und Zubauten weitgehend verändert. Aus gotischer Zeit stammt der Chorraum, dem im 16. Jahrhundert auch ein polygonales Beinhaus angefügt wurde.

La Chiesa di Santa Cristina è il più antico luogo di cura delle anime della Val Gardena. Si trova vicino alla via Troi Paian, nel luogo in cui già nel XII secolo doveva essere presente una cappella consacrata. Una lettera d’indulgenza del 1342 documenta la presenza della chiesa al periodo romanico. Il campanile è rimasto ancora oggi ed è stato nel frattempo restaurato solo con un nuovo tetto. Dei resti della costruzione romanica rimane ben poco a causa di numerosi lavori di ristrutturazione.
Il coro venne costruito durante il periodo gotico e nel XVI secolo venne aggiunto un ossario. Questa zona un tempo ospitava una statua bronzea di Santa Filomena, oggi spostata nella piazza del comune. Da vedere anche l’altare maggiore, opera della famosa dinastia di artisti Vinazer.
L’ingresso principale della Chiesa di Santa Cristina è rivolto ad occidente ed è raggiungibile tramite un ponte in pietra. Questo venne costruito all’epoca della costruzione della ferrovia in Val Gardena. Un altro ingresso si trova a nord e a sud. La chiesa è circondata da un curato cimitero.

S. Cristina, is the oldest parish church in Val Gardena
S. Cristina, located in the middle of the valley near the ancient high-level track called Troi Paian, is the oldest parish church in Val Gardena. A chapel dedicated to S. Cristina is thought to have stood here towards the end of the 12th century. Today all that remains of the Romanesque church, which is mentioned in a papal letter of 1342, is the wall of the bell-tower as far as the eaves. Later rebuilding and additional structures greatly changed the original character of the church. The choir was built in the Gothic period, and a polygonal charnel house was added in the 16th century. Other interesting features include the high altar surround, which was created around 1690 in the workshop of the famous Vinazer family of sculptors.
