Château St Jouannet remonte au 13ème siècle, mais la découverte de tuiles romains sur les lieux suggère que St Jouannet a été habité bien plus tôt.
St Jouannet est situé sur une colline avec une vue magnifique sur le paysage ondulé du Gers.
Le demeure possède un grand jardin avec une petite forêt de chênes. Les terrains environnants sont utilisés pour la culture des blés et tournesol et viticulture.
En 1977, le château a été acheté presque en etat de ruine par le couple danois Ingrid et Palle Steen Hansen, qui l'a restaurée avec soin en ce qui concerne la patrimoine historique. Ils ont utilisé 600 tonnes de sable, 50 tonnes de ciment et de chaux, des milliers de tuiles ont été enlevés et mis en marche lors de la rénovation de la toiture.
Le cache est placé avec la permission des propriétaires de St Jouannet qui ont également promis de maintenir le cache.

Château St Jouannet dates back to the 13th century, but finds of Roman tiles on the ground suggest that St Jouannet was inhabited much earlier.

In 1977, the Château was bought almost as a ruin by the Danish couple Ingrid and Palle Steen Hansen, who restored it carefully with regard to the historical heritage. They used 600 tons of sand, 50 tons of cement and lime, thousands of tiles were removed and put on again during the renovation of the roof.

If you ring the bell on the main gate in the yard there is a good chance you will be offered a cup of coffee. Please wait outside for the owners to open. They have dogs.
