They call this area Owl City. I really don't know why. I came out here expecting to see either some owls or a city, but I didn't find either one. What I did find was a recently logged area and a snowmobile trail. From the looks of the trail, it was used more for a logging trail than a snowmobile trail last winter. I also found a hunters' trail that heads north toward the river. Just off this trail I found a place for a cache.
North Road is not plowed past the last year-round residence in the winter. If the road is impassable, it is about a 3/4 mile hike to the cache. The area can also be accessed by snowmobile.
The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to Brian Peters of the Wisconsin DNR. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means of a notification form. Please print out a paper copy of the notification form, fill in all required information, then submit it to the land manager. | Logging Etiquette: Geocache hiders sometimes go through a great deal of planning to place their caches. As a result, they'd like to hear your feedback on whether you liked or disliked any aspect of the hide, or if you feel that some cache maintenance is required. Single word, acronym, or emoticon logs may be easier when you have a lot of caches to log, but it doesn't tell the hider or other finders anything about your adventure (or lack thereof) in finding the cache.
