Geocache Description:

Above coordinates are not, uh, sincere! You have an assignment first.

It is the morning of November 1, 1961. Charlie Brown is in a neighborhood pumpkin patch, waking his good friend, Linus, who has been sleeping in the patch all night. It is now the third year in a row that poor Linus' hopes of seeing his Halloween Hero, The Great Pumpkin, dashed. As you know, the Great Pumpkin rises out of what he deems the most sincere pumpkin patch each year to give toys to all of the little children.

Charlie tells him, "It just came over the radio...He appeared in a very sincere pumpkin patch owned by someone named Freeman in New Jersey!"

Linus' reaction is the title of this, the 39th cache in my Peanuts series.

The central part of the cache is a matchstick container, which itself has been placed in a thematic container, which itself has been placed, well, outside somewhere.

Solving this pumpkiny puzzle should be easy as pie. You'll need to get the answers out of the classic Peanuts special, It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown , available through your local library, if not already on your shelf of holiday favorites.

Make sure you keep the answers in the same order as the questions. However, you might have to skip around the show a bit while scooping out the answers!

--- How many ghost-pumpkins scare the kids?

--- How many bows are in Patty’s hair during her “fake” comment?

--- Number of skeletons plus the number of cats that scare the kids

--- Number of licks we see Linus give the lollipop + 4

--- Number of times Charlie Brown says, “I got a rock.”

--- Time of the morning that Lucy gets out of bed, walks over to the pumpkin patch, brings her brother home and tucks him into bed

--- Number of kilometers to Pont-a-Mousson + 5

--- Number of bananas Linus eats at the beginning of the program

--- Number of km to Chalons sur-Marne divided by 10

--- Number of apples in the tub that are visible just as Snoopy is peering around the corner plus the number of apples Linus tosses in the trash at the beginning of the program.

--- Number of notarized signed documents that Lucy gives to Charlie Brown prior to the football set-up

--- Number of people who forego trick-or-treating and wait in the pumpkin patch, including Linus

--- Number of km to La Moselle

--- Number of pink stripes on the lamp to the left of the TV in Linus & Lucy’s TV room

--- Number of black stripes on the back of Shroeder’s shirt while he is playing, "It's a Long Way to Tipperary,"(not including the stripe that could also be his collar). Wait a few seconds before counting, as there are suddenly a couple more.

If you haven't hiked here before, you are in for a real treat. It is quite a climb. Take your time, wear sturdy hiking shoes, bring water...and take your camera!
