A road side cache please beware of traffic.

LONG RISTON Is situated approximately 9 miles north of Hull city centre, 6 miles east of Beverley town centre and 7.5 miles south west of Hornsea. It is situated to the east of the A165 Whitecross road which by-passes the village making it a peaceful and pleasant place, making the village a popular commuter settlement for those working both in Hull and Beverley.
Together with the hamlet of Arnold it forms the civil parish of Riston.
Most of the older houses in Long Riston are strung out for approximately 1mile along Main Street and continuing down Catwick lane, with a few in a short cul-de-sac on the west side of the street called Lauty lane. The new build estates branch off these roads to each side and fill out the village to quite an extent, so that the size of the village has doubled from what it was in the early 1970s, but has still not lost any of its charm. The church stands back form the road in fields at the north end of the village that show signs of medieval ridge and furrow farming and next to an area called Butt Hills that seems to hint at more history as these are in the right place for and carry the right name for medieval Archery Butts.

Set near a site of willow and water, if you sit here long enough a small white cat with black patches comes to see you for a stroke. (likes being rubbed behind its ears) seen on 8 out of 10 visits when setting up cache.
