A Fine Pair #48 ~ Horsham Road, Cranleigh
This is another contribution in the popular A Fine Pair series of caches started by wizardsmum where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.
The only rule is they have to be within 20 feet of each other, and the phone boxes have to be red.
Whilst the phone box here is in Horsham Road the post box is just around the corner behind the hedge in Avenue Road and you may not see both together when you first arrive. The cache is not inside the telephone box so please do not look for it there. You may however have to enter the box to find some of the required information.
To calculate the coordinates for the cache you need to find the following:
The telephone number of the call box is 01483 ABCDEF
The number of the post box is GU6 GH
The last collection on Monday to Friday is J.KL
The cache can then be found at:
N 51 (A - E) (G - K) . (H - K) (C + E) (J + K)
W 000 (G - D) (F + J) . (L - F) (B - J) (H + L)
In view of proximity issues with two other caches this is a little further away than usual at 0.4 miles. Nevetheless a pleasant walk along a pavement for most of the way. If you are pressed for time you may prefer to relocate your car to Avenue Road N51 08.156 W000 28.428 for a shorter 0.1 mile walk.
