The church dates back to the 12th century. The stones near the church door are not a rockery. They're the remains of a Saxon preaching cross so as a site of worship it goes back even further.
St Peter and St Paul's is the parish Church of Eastham. There are services on the first Sunday of the month at 8.30 and third Sunday at 10.00. In addition there is a simple said communion on Wednesday mornings at 10.00 which is useful for the people who find Sundays difficult because of work or family commitments. There are fabulous walks from the church. Walks and audio stories of the area are downloadable from the church website.
