I will never get over these AWESOME views!!!!! Quick stats... 10hrs, door-to-door, 4200' e-gain in 15+ miles....Choppy trail for the first mile or so while elevation is gained on a well established; once that has happened, very nice "flat" trail until the Hester Lake turn off at roughly 3.4miles....Another 2+ something puts you at the NE side of the lake...Follow rough backpackers trails for as long as they last. From here on... a bushwhack-trail-finding-EXTRAVAGANZA!!!!! If yer familiar with these types of hikes, this portion should be self-explanatory....Just check yer topos and aim for Little Hester Lake. At Little Hester, stay right and go for the saddle at roughly 4600'... Are you now scramble-ready? Good, run the ridge, and Bob's yer Uncle.... Bonus points for ANY explanation why folks still place PVC pipes as summit logs????!??! Nothing but wet pulp......
