Sixième d’une série de 9 caches, dédiées à Tintin et « L’affaire Tournesol » qui se déroule, en partie, en Suisse.
Sixth cache of a serie of 9, related with the Tintin in « The Calculus Affair » which part of it takes place in Switzerland.

Tintin en Suisse 6 – Pompiers, Nyon

Une bombe a fait des dégâts dans la maison du professeur Topolino, située dans la route de Saint-Cergue. Les pompiers de Nyon répondent promptement. Tintin est inconscient et Haddock s’évanouit après avoir vidé une bouteille de whisky. Le lendemain, le jeune homme et ses amis continuent leur aventure dans la ville de Nyon.

« L’affaire Tournesol » a été publiée par Hergé en 1956. L’un des plus grands dessinateurs de BD du XXe siècle avait choisi la Suisse, et plus particulièrement Nyon, pour pimenter l’intrigue de la disparition du professeur Tournesol. Ce personnage est d’ailleurs inspiré par le scientifique Auguste Piccard, grand-père de Bertrand Piccard lui-même amateur de Tintin!

Curiosité: Depuis janvier 2008, le CRDIS Nyon Région est constitué des communes de Crans-Céligny, Duillier, Eysins, Grens, Nyon, Prangins et Signy-Avenex. Il est commandé par le Major Pierre-Yves Corthésy. Ses effectifs sont stables (114 sapeurs-pompiers au 1er janvier 2012; 4 dans le staff permanent, les autres sont des volontaires).
L’amicale des sapeurs-pompiers de Nyon conserve fièrement la Willys de 1953 illustrée par Hergé lors de l’intervention des pompiers à la route de St-Cergue. Une petite collection dédiée à Tintin, où l’on trouve notamment les planches de cet épisode, peut être visitée sur demande à la caserne du Service du Feu de Nyon (les coordonnées ci-dessus vous amènent à la caserne).

Tintin in Switzerland 6 – Firefighters, Nyon

In St-Cergue Street a bomb has heavily damaged professor Topolino’s house. Nyon firefighters have promptly responded. Tintin is unconscious and Haddock fades away only after empting a whisky bottle. Next morning the young man and his friends keep on with their adventure in Nyon town.

« The Calculus Affair » was published by Hergé in 1956. One of 20^th century biggest comics author has chosen Switzerland and specially Nyon, to spice up the plot of professor Calculus kidnap. This character was inspired by the famous scientist Auguste Piccard, great-father of Bertrand Piccard, himself Tintin’s fan.

Curiosity: After January 2008, Nyon Region CRDIS gathers Crans-Céligny, Duillier, Eysins, Grens, Nyon, Prangins and Signy-Avenex. Major Pierre-Yves Corthésy commands it. On January the first 2012 it counted 114 firemen (only 4 are permanent staff and all the others are volunteers).
The Association Friends of Nyon firefighters proudly holds the Jeep Willys of 1953 drawn by Hergé when firefighters went to professor Topolino’s house after the explosion. It is possible to visit a small collection at the Fire Service in Nyon, dedicated to Tintin where you can find the original drawing board of this episode (the coordinates above reveal the place).
