Geocache Description:

A quick little cache while entering the magnificent site of Lipica from its Southern entrance.

The Lipica Stud Farm is the cradle of all Lipizzaner horses in the world, and was established back in year 1580. Nowadays it is one of the most beautiful cultural and historical monuments of the Republic of Slovenia.
The name of the farm and of the nearby village is derived from the Slovenian word lipa, and means 'small linden tree': this tree species is very common in the area and it is the national simbol of Slovenia.
For every foal born at the Lipica farm a new linden tree is planted, from which the local epithet 'Lipa, Lipica, Lipizzana'.
Bring with you a pen for the log!
