Geocache Description:

Are you ready to travel back in time?

This is one of the very few places in Varna where you can experience the atmosphere of the city in the period 1878 - 1939. It's up to you if you choose to pay a visit to the History of Varna museum that occupies the building next to the cache. It was built in 1851 for the Belgian consulate. Later on it was converted into a hotel and since the end of XIX century up until 1929 it served as a prison. It was used as a warehouse after that. The museum itself was founded in 1969.
On the other side of the cache you can see more of these Roman remnants from ancient times. Don't forget to check The Roman baths cache nearby.
