Quatrième d’une série de 8 caches (+1 bonus), dédiées à Tintin et à son aventure dans « L’affaire Tournesol » qui se déroule, en partie, en Suisse.
Fourth cache of a serie of 8 (+ 1 bonus), related with the Tintin and his adventure in « The Calculus Affair » which part of it takes place in Switzerland.

Tintin en Suisse 4 – L’arrivée à Nyon

Ceci est la quatrième d’une série de 8 caches (+1 bonus), dédiées au célèbre reporter Tintin et à son aventure dans « L’affaire Tournesol » qui se déroule, en partie, en Suisse.

Suite à un voyage très secoué en direction de Nyon, Tintin, Milou, Haddock et le conducteur du taxi Simca Aronde (1954) finissent par se trouver dans le Léman. Il y est, le journaliste belge arrive enfin à cette ville fondée par les Romains. Nyon a un rôle important dans le déroulement de l’album « L’affaire Tournesol ».

« L’affaire Tournesol » a été publiée par Hergé en 1956. L’un des plus grands dessinateurs de BD du XXe siècle avait choisi la Suisse, et plus particulièrement Nyon, pour pimenter l’intrigue de la disparition du professeur Tournesol. Ce personnage est d’ailleurs inspiré par le scientifique Auguste Piccard, grand-père de Bertrand Piccard lui-même amateur de Tintin!

“C’est pour «L’affaire Tournesol» que je me suis déplacé pour la première
fois afin de prendre des croquis et des photographies des lieux où allait se
dérouler une action. Il fallait, par exemple, que je découvre l’endroit exact
où une voiture pouvait quitter la route pour tomber dans le lac Léman,
entre Genève et Nyon”, confia Hergé lors d’un entretien.

Curiosité: Nyon a été fondée par les Romains entre 46 av. J.-C. et 44 av. J.-C. sous le nom de Colonia Iulia Equestris sur un site helvète nommé Noviodunum (nouvelle forteresse, en langue gauloise). Elle a ensuite grandi jusqu’à devenir l’une des plus importantes colonies romaines de Suisse, avec un forum, une basilique et un amphithéâtre, qui a été découvert en 1996.

Tintin in Switzerland 4 – Nyon arrival

This is the fourth cache of a serie of 8 (+ 1 bonus), with the theme of the famous reporter Tintin and his adventure in « The Calculus Affair » which part of it takes place in Switzerland.

After a dramatic trip to Nyon, Tintin, Snowy, Haddock and the taxi driver of the cab Simca Aronde (1954) ends up in the waters of Geneva Lake. The Belgian journalist finally arrives in the village founded by the Romans. Nyon will have an important role in the outcome of « The Calculus Affair ».

« The Calculus Affair » was published by Hergé in 1956. One of 20^th century biggest comics author had chosen Switzerland and specially Nyon, to spice up the plot of professor Calculus kidnap. This character was inspired by the famous scientist Auguste Piccard, great-father of Bertrand Piccard, himself Tintin’s fan.

“It was for « The Calculus Affair » that I have undertaken the trip, for the first time,
to do research and to take photos and make drawings of the places where the
actions would take place. For example, I have needed to find the exact spot where
an automobile could go out of the road into Geneva Lake, in between Geneva and Nyon”
revealed Hergé during an interview.

Curiosity: Nyon was founded by the Romans between 46 BC and 44 BC with the name of Colonia Iulia Equestris in a helvetic place named Noviodunum (new fortress, in Gallic language). Afterwards it grown and became one important roman colony in Switzerland, with a forum, a basilica and an amphitheatre, only discovered in 1996.
