Maddy just turned 6 and has been maintaining this cache for 4 years now. She has been playing geocache with the neighbors here on our property, this cache is her first real-world geocache in a public location. It's really easy to find and to get to for little ones. Maddy hopes everyone enjoys her "treasure"! We'll try to keep it stocked with goodies for other kids her age.
*2018 Update- It seems the cache got muggled again. Today we looked all over but couldnt find it so we replaced it with a temporary container. It is in the same spot as it has been for a year or so and I verified the co-ordinates. Everything should be good to go now, new rite-in-the-rain logbook, pen and a couple of goodies. Sorries to the last several visitors who dnf the cache. Please rry again! As soon as possible I'll replace with a bigger, more waterproof container for the cache and I'll laser-range some of the interesting landmarks visible from Maddy's Cache and add them to the new logbook. Hopefully this one will last for awhile! 2017 Update: The hollow log this cache used to be in is gone now. The cache is in the same area, just check the modified hint!* This cache is located near the southern shore of beautiful Bishop Lake in the Brighton Recreation Area. There is a nice gravel trail that takes you right to the cache. A gorgeous sandy beach, productive fishing pier and wonderful sunset views await all visitors to this cache. Maddy had a great day swimming and hiking and playing on the beach when we planted this cache. Visiting Maddy's Cache is a great excuse to get in some more fun before the summer is over!! There is an awesome campground right across the lake from this cache, horseback riding nearby, kayak and rowboat rentals on the lake and SO MUCH MORE! Come bring some treasure for Maddy's Cache and have a great day! ps: I took compass bearings and laser-ranged distances to various features around the lake that can be seen from Maddy's Cache. The measurements are on the 2nd page of the little logbook. Enjoy :)
