This cache has been archived.

LU Forester: Looks like this one might be gone after it was moved. Since I cannot get back easily I'm going to Archive it. It's been a good year. If anyone finds the container, it's yours to put out a cache.

Geocache Description:

Just off a short trail leading to the waters edge. Please hide in similar fashion to keep muggles from finding it.

Educational Message for Guelph Lake Conservation Area. Salix is an important forest species but not commercially valuable species. This tree has a great ability to grow from broken branches and twigs thus often found along on waters edge where ever the broken piece washes-up on soil. It prefers wetter ground where it can out-compete other species. It provides cover for wildlife and shade for the water. Only one species is used commercially for rough lumber as its wood is weak and the grain is twisted. *** I was informed by Bushman002 that the trees I placed the cache were poplars not salix pretty stupid of me except... the clump of trees did include very big Salix trees and the whole area was surrounded thickly by Salix brush AND the name of the "poplars" that he pointed out is Salicaceae Populus Balsamifers L. the first of the latin name is the Family name for WILLOW. Huh who would have thunk that!***
