Deze cache is een fotozoektocht doorheen het Land van Rode.
De bedoeling is dat je de opgegeven coördinaten (kerken) bezoekt, en daar telkens kijkt of je de torenspits kan herkennen in 1 van de foto's A tot L. Waar je een dergelijke foto herkent, kan je ook 1 van de detailfoto's vinden die met nummers aangeduid zijn. Belangrijk: de details in die foto's moeten zich op of tegen het kerkgebouw bevinden (hoogstens 1 m van de muur).
De combinatie van beide foto's geeft je de waarde van de betreffende letter. Als je op die manier voor alle letters een cijferwaarde gevonden hebt, kan je de ligging van de cache uitrekenen door de volgende projectie te doen:
doe vanaf N 50° 58.950 E 003° 42.880 een projectie over (A+B+C+D+E+F) meter en (G+H+I+J-K-L) °.
Er zijn 20 dorpen opgegeven en slechts 12 foto's van torenspitsen. In sommige dorpen zal je dus geen foto herkennen.
Alle opgegeven coördinaten zijn ook benaderend; ze dienen vooral om je naar de kerken te gidsen.
Uit de ligging van de start-coördinaten kan je ook afleiden in welk gebied de cache ligt. Hou daar rekening mee om je trip wat te plannen!
This cache is a photo-quest in the "Land van Rode".
The idea is that you visit the given co-ordinates (churches) and try to identify one of the pictures labelled A to L. If you recognise the church spire in one of those pictures, you will also be able to find one of the numbered pictures at that location. Important: the details in the numbered pictures must be located on or against the church walls (i.e. within maximum 1 m from the wall).
The combination of both pictures (spire + detail) gives you the value of the letter that belongs to the spire picture. Once you have assigned a value to all the letters, you can calculate the location of the cache by doing the following projection:
starting from N 50° 58.950 E 003° 42.880, do a projection over a distance of (A+B+C+D+E+F) meter and at an angle of (G+H+I+J-K-L) °.
You have 20 co-ordinates, and only 12 pictures of spires. In some villages you will therefore not be able to find any of the pictures.
All given co-ordinates are approximate values. They mainly serve to guide you to the churches.
The start co-ordinates indicate also in which area the cache is located. Take this into account when planning your trip!
