Geocache Description:

This cache is situated in the vieux village of Condorcet, just a short drive from the main street in the "new" Condorcet.

La cache est située dans le vieux village de Condorcet, pas loin de la rue principale du «nouveau» Condorcet.

You can drive up to the entrance to the vieux village, but the cache is quite difficult to get to on foot after that.

There is a small layby to park in if you go up by car. Please leave the key in the cache and swap out something else. Thank you!

Take a little detour once you've found the cache to the beautiful, serene graveyard.

Vous pouvez conduire jusqu'àu vieux village, mais la cache est assez difficile d'y accéder à pied après avoir atteint le vieux village.

Here is the story of the Marquis of Condorcet:

Marie Jean Antoine Nicolas de Caritat, marquis de Condorcet (17 September 1743 – 28 March 1794), known as Nicolas de Condorcet, was a French philosopher, mathematician, and early political scientist whoseCondorcet method in voting tally selects the candidate who would beat each of the other candidates in a run-off election. Unlike many of his contemporaries, he advocated a liberal economy, free and equal public education, constitutionalism, and equal rights for women and people of all races. His ideas and writings were said to embody the ideals of the Age of Enlightenment and rationalism, and remain influential to this day. He died a mysterious death in prison after a period of being a fugitive from French Revolutionary authorities.
