Carabacel est une appellation très ancienne qui désigne la roche. Là se situaient des carrières où les Niçois s'approvisionnaient en pierres à bâtir.
Carabacel is a very ancient name which means rock. The lower part of the hill of Cimiez was a quarry for the inhabitants of the old city.
