Geocache Description:

This non-partisan cache was placed in anticipation of the 2012 Presidential election. Posted coordinates are for nearby parking. To find the cache, you’ll have to know a few fun facts about U.S. Presidents.

Fill in the blanks in the coordinates with the answers to the following quiz:

A = The number of times President Zachary Taylor had voted in a U.S. Presidential election before voting for himself in 1848.

B = This President, while in office, was fined $20 for speeding (while driving a horse-drawn carriage!). (number of letters in his last name)

C = This Presidential pet parrot had to be removed from his owner’s funeral because he wouldn’t stop cursing. (number of letters in the parrot’s name — you might find the name spelled two different ways — use the lower number of letters — or you can use the number of letters in the name of LBJ's famous "ear-lifted" beagle).

D = The U.S. President who served for the shortest amount of time: 31 days in office. (number of letters in his last name)

E = The only U.S. President to marry in the White House (also the only one to serve two nonconsecutive terms). (number of letters in his last name)

F = The number of daughters fathered by either the 2nd or the 17th or the 20th or the 23rd or the 25th or the 26th or the 36th or the 37th or the 43rd or the 44th President.

G = President with the nicknames Napoleon of the Stump and Young Hickory. (number of letters in his last name)

H = The President who had a custom bathtub installed in the White House (after his 332-pound bulk got stuck in the existing tub). (number of letters in his last name)

I = The number of wives of President James Buchanan.

J = The number of U.S. Presidents buried in Arlington National Cemetery.

The container is a medium lightweight ammo can. Youngest of the 4 helped with the hide, so it's pretty obvious. Coords were checked several times with multiple units, then averaged (best accuracy was running about 7-10 feet).

Though hours vary, this area is generally open and accessible from dawn to dusk.

Starting swag includes some Presidential dollar coins, a Hoover Dam Anniversary token, some patriotic key blanks and other "Americana." Please keep swag non-partisan (no campaigning, muckraking, mudslinging, smear tactics, scandal-mongering, swiftboating, baby kissing, ballot stuffing, intern chasing, filibustering, glad-handing or hanging chads, please).

The FTF prize includes an unactivated President Obama trackable (if you’re a fan, you can launch it with a goal of returning it to Washington, DC — if you're not a fan, you can send it back to Illinois, or all the way back to Hawaii).

CONGRATULATIONS TO EIZER FOR BEING FIRST-TO-FIND — don't forget to vote (…early and often?)!

If you find the cache on Election Day, bring along one of those "I Voted" stickers and put it in the log!

July 2014 -- Find it while you can, 'cause I'm afraid it's destined to be muggled again. When I went to replace the cache, the original hide site looked like a young vandal was using it to stash his/her spray paint. I relocated to a "same, but different" spot within five feet. Still easy and obvious. Please use discretion and re-hide carefully. Thanks!
