Kráter Vyšné Ružbachy
Najvacsou atrakciou z pohladu prirodneho bohatstva vo vychodoslovenskej obci Vysne Ruzbachy je travertinove jazierko Krater, najvacsie svojho druhu na Slovensku a pravdepodobne aj v strednej Europe.
V kupeloch Vysne Ruzbachy sa nachadzaju styri velke a niekolko malych travertinovych kraterov. Krater je najpopularnejsi a najvacsi medzi nimi. Ma priemer 20 metrov a je hlboky 2 az 3 metre. Vznikol prepadnutim travertinovych kop vyzrazanych okolo mineralnych pramenov bohatych na vapnik.
Zaujimavostou kratera je, ze vplyvom vysokej priemernej teploty vody a silnou mineralizaciou, pramen ani v zime nezamrza.
Par krokov od kratera, smerom k Bielemu domu, mozete najst travertinovy vodopad, ktorym preteka voda z Kratera.
Travertin
Travertin je forma vapenca ukladajuceho sa z mineralnych pramenov, specialne tych horucich. Ma casto vlaknity a sustredeny vzhlad a existuje v bielej, trieslovej a kremovej farbe. Je tvoreny procesom rychleho zrazania ???, casto pri usti horuceho pramena alebo vo vapencovych jaskyniach. V druhom pripade moze vytvarat stalaktity, stalagmity alebo ine formy.

Crater Vyšné Ružbachy
The biggest attraction in terms of natural resources in the eastern village Vysne Ruzbachy is travertine lake named "Krater" which is the largest of its kind in Slovakia and possibly in Central Europe too.
There are four big and several small travertine craters in the spa of Vysne Ruzbachy. Krater is the most popular and the biggest among them. Crater has a diameter of 20 meters and is deep and from 2 to 3 meters. The crater has nothing to do with volcanoes or volcanic eruptions. It is result of the collapsed travertine monticules, which precipitated around the mineral springs rich in calcium.
One of the most interesting things about Crater is that thanks to high avarage temperature and strong mineralization, water in Crater doesn't freeze.
Not far from the crater towards White House, you can find travertine waterfall that flows water from the crater.
Travertine
Travertine is a form of limestone deposited by mineral springs, especially hot springs. Travertine often has a fibrous or concentric appearance and exists in white, tan, and cream-colored varieties.
