This cache is located just off the footpath that runs between Moorswater and Coombe Junction, near Liskeard and follows the branch line and stream along the valley floor. PLEASE NOTE: THERE IS NO NEED TO VENTURE ONTO THE RAILWAY LINE TO RETRIEVE THIS CACHE!
Moorswater near Liskeard has been long associated with the mining history of south east Cornwall and was at the southern end of one of Cornwall's earliest railways, the Liskeard and Caradon mineral line which opened in 1844.
The line that runs along the valley has more recently been used to take china clay and cement to a terminal on the nearby industrial estate and meets with the Liskeard-Looe branch line at Coombe Junction. The viaduct that spans the valley is the part of the mainline to Penzance.
This area has been remodeled numerous times in its rich history, but nature always reclaims her own! Parking can be found by the nearby industrial estate. Congratulations to PenSett on FTF!!
