Schlosshof is a castle in Marchfeld in Austria.
Prince Eugen of Savoyen used to spend the summer in this extraordinary palace, which was as magnificent as his palaces in Vienna. The original castle from the early 17th century was transformed by the famous architect Johann Lukas of Hildebrandt in 1730. In the following years, a wonderful park with fountains and cascades was laid out and, in 1755, Schloßhof became the Emperor´s castle. It was here, where Empress Maria Theresia spent parts of her widowhood.
