Geocache Description:

Pinkham Mountain cache located near the summit of its namesake in the beautiful Kootenai National Forest.  Forest road within 50 feet of cache, but often impassible to most vehicles, but great for hiking.

Pinkham Mountain is a nice 6,320 foot peak and the source of the infamous Pinkham Creek. The locals have interesting tales of the families which had their homestead along the creek. Nice panoramic view from the peak (ignoring a couple radio towers). Wildlife in the area include Bald Eagles, Osprey, Moose, Elk, Dear (Whitetail and Mule), Wolves, Mountain Lions, Black & Grizzly Bears, and a host of other smaller forest creatures.

The cache is the first of 4 located in the Pinkham area as a group effort between a group of Illinois adventurers and a local outdoor ministry. The four hides are all ammo boxes and each lead to a unique area in the Kootenai National Forest. Please remember, leave the area as it was found(removing any trash you may find along thte way). Additional information on the area can be found at the US forest service site http://www.fs.usda.gov/main/kootenai/home
