CASTILLO DE SAN SEBASTIAN
Situación:El castillo de San Sebastián se sitúa sobre un montículo en la parte de abajo de O Castro, en la localidad de Vigo, provincia de Pontevedra.
Historia:Fue construido en el siglo XVII por los ingenieros militares Juan Villarroel y Prado y los hermanos Carlos y Fernando de Grunemberg, como defensa para la ciudad de Vigo ante los piratas ingleses, aliados de los portugueses en la Guerra de la Restauración de Portugal (1640-1668).
Descripción:
Del castillo de San Sebastián sólo quedan los muros del lado norte con dos garitas. Fue construido sobre un montículo, en la parte de abajo de O Castro, en donde se cerraba el recinto abalaustrado que componía las defensas de la plaza militar viguesa.
Protección:
Bajo la protección de la Declaración genérica del Decreto de 22 de abril de 1949, y la Ley 16/1985 sobre el Patrimonio Histórico Español.

Location:
The castle of San Sebastian is situated on a mound in the bottom of O Castro, in the town of Vigo, Pontevedra.
History:
It was built in the seventeenth century by military engineers Villarroel and Juan Prado and brothers Carlos and Fernando Grunemberg as a defense for the city of Vigo to the English pirates, allies of the Portuguese in the War of the Restoration of Portugal (1640 - 1668).
Description:
San Sebastian castle walls are only the north side with two booths. It was built on a mound in the bottom of Castro O, where the campus was closed balustered who composed the military defenses of the place Vigo.
