L'église Saint-Pierre fut donnée à l'abbaye par le fondateur, Guillaume Paynel, du consentement de l'évêque Algare, instigateur de la fondation.
Cette paroisse dépendait de l’archidiaconé du Val de Vire et du doyenné de Gavray.
De la première église ne subsiste plus que le petit porche occidental du XVe, aux arc en accolade ; le chœur date du XVIIe, la nef et ses bas-cotés de la fin du XVIIIe. Grand retable exécuté par Maréchal, ébéniste de Louis XIV.

The Church of St. Peter was given to the abbey by the founder, William Paynel, the consent of the bishop Algare, instigator of the foundation.
This parish depended on the archdeaconry of the Val de Vire and the deanery of Gavray .
Of the original church. only the small western porch of the fifteenth century, the chancel dating from seventeenth century, the nave and aisles of the late eighteenth century and the alterpiece executed by Maréchal, cabinetmaker to Louis XIV remain.
