8th of 50 Must See Places - SOUTH AFRICAN SAFARI Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Sol de lune: Well, the end has come. It has taken a little longer to get out and collect the caches, but today was the day.

A fun series that a few people managed to find. Number 1, Paris, was found the most - a total of 324 times, while number 38, Prague - was only found 231 times. Bit of a difference.

All caches, along with the attachment system, have been removed, with only one cache not found.

Thanks to all who visited the area and found the caches.....hope you enjoyed your walk/ride.

Geocache Description:

THE CACHES / SERIES
This is number 8 in a series of caches that highlight the 50 Must See Places in the World……..according a popular Australian Travel Show.
If you agree or not is another matter, however the list is what it is. Maybe a few of the places could go up or down in the list, however the 50 listed, from all reports, seem like great places to visit.

AND NUMBER 8 IS.......A SOUTH AFRICAN SAFARI
Sabi Sabi gives you the chance to see the "big five" — lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. It is also home to zebra, antelope, giraffe, monkey, cheetah, baboon, hyena, (be)wildebeest(??), warthog and 360 species of bird, as well as diverse and unique flora.

THE CACHES LOCATION
All caches are placed in the forest area just off Coppins Crossing Road. Simply park at the Parking co-ords and starting at Number 1, collect the caches in numerical sequence and you will complete a round trip, ending up almost back the parking co-ords. Total distance is approx 12 ks, so allow yourself a good few hours if you’re walking. If you’re on a bike the only thing that will slow you down is the couple of small hills you’ll need to climb. The majority of your walk/ride is on good fire trails, however you will go off track a little to find a couple of the caches.

THE REASON FOR THE SERIES
So you can find a few new caches of course………but also to set up a travel bank of information /tips /suggestions and other facts that fellow cachers may find of interest if travelling to any of the 50 Must See Places.

LOGGING
All voluntary of course, however I hope you’ll get into spirit of the series, and when you log your find against each cache, include in your log any experiences /tips /suggestion on places to stay, for any of the 50 Must See Places that you have visited…….it will all add to the Travel Bank If you haven’t visited the 50 Must See Place cache you are logging, a short and simple log will be fine. And remember, all logs will add to your verbosity

I hope you’ll be a part of the fun and add your comments to any of the 50 Must See Places that you have visited……..
