Geocache Description:

ENG Cach itself is PET- bottle kit, contains only logbook and pencil.

ENG
Krustpils – one "half" of Jekabpils city, its name has remained the only thanks to the castle and the railway station. Local audience still adheres to the "distribution" - the right bank of the Daugava – Krustpils, left - Jekabpils.

Why cach is here? Because in teh radius of some tens of meters there are three different objects to see.
1. Cache is placed near to memorial dedicated to World War II battles in Krustpils. Memorial is not in a good condition but it is still a witness of our disputed history. Memorial author is a sculptor Lev Bukowski. We found an information about this sculptor, when made our cache "Forget / Forgotten" (visit link).

2. Across the street is Krutspils’ culture house. Renewed in last year using the money of EU founds. The building with impressive columns, and the peculiar color of the facade is one of the cultural centers of the city. It’s opened from March 1959. You can find more information here: http://www.krustpilskn.lv

3. At the right side from the cach, between the trees you can notice the third point of interest - the cannon, which there is installed in honor of honor of artillery commanders who died in II World War.

And in the end – all around here is  Krustpils’ park that runs along the Daugava river -  a nice place for walking and recreation.
