Sneezy
We are realeasing a set of caches either in memory or in honor (still living) of all our many pets. We have had many (OK, too many) over the years. We'll probably just hit our favorites as I alone have had far too many hampsters, Guinea Pigs, and reptiles over the years............
"Sneezy" was another stray we adopted. She followed the neighbor's son home from school one December afternoon. Having 2 cats already, my neighbor asked if my daughter and I could "keep the poor thing until they found it's owners". After many hung posters with no owners to be found, I couldn't bear to send her back out in the cold and my daughter was attached. Our home became her home. My daughter named her Sneezy because she sneezed all the time. Many dollars at the vet later, the reason for her sneezing was diagnosed as a sinus infection.
Sneezy became the neighborhood cat. She loved to wander the neighborhood and was always on the "move"-prompting us to hide this cache by the neighborhood MOVIE theatre. She was also very entertaining. She would stop in the middle of the busy street we lived on and sit just as a car came wizzing down the street, forcing the driver to stop. She visited multiple homes and was invited in for naps and snacks to many. And she loved to stalk dry leaves or plastic coffee lids that moved in a breeze. My "gifts" were rarely mice, but usually a mouth full of leaves!
She developed a tumor in her sinus cavity at about 7 years old and sadly had to be put to sleep. But Sneezy is still the talk of the neighbors, and despite being small, left a large impression on all she touched.
