After finding my 100th cache, I decided that it was time to place one, or in this case several of my own. This is the first part in a three part series of caches. Please stay on the designated paths for as long as possible. Make sure you put the cache back the way you found it. Have fun! Congrats to kodiakwoodsman for first to find!
Long ago in the second age of Middle Earth, an evil leader named Sauron forged a ring of power to control the race of Elves, Men, and Dwarfs. But those races resisted Sauron and fought the battle of the Last Alliance on his doorstep at Mount Doom. The Alliance defeated Sauron and the ring was taken from him. Unfortunately, the ring itself was not destroyed and evil lurked in Middle Earth. Over time, the ring was lost and legend became myth. The ring was found by the most unlikely race in Middle Earth, the hobbits. A hobbit named Bilbo Baggins found the ring during a quest through the Misty Mountains and brought it back to the Shire for safekeeping. Since then, the evil leader Sauron has rebuilt his forces and is looking to find the ring so he can rule Middle Earth. Your quest is to go to the Shire and find the ring that Bilbo has hid, take it into Mordor where Mount Doom is located and cast it into the fire (well actually the cache box) to destroy it! This is the only way to defeat Sauron and rid Middle Earth of all evil. Your quest will not be an easy one. In order to find your way to Mordor and Mount Doom, you will need to make a stop along the way to gather clues that will lead you there. The first clue is attached to the ring of power so take it with you on your journey. Be careful when you find the ring as Sauron has sent out many Orcs and Black Riders to find it first (aka muggles)! Therfore, you must use stealth at all times in this quest. Good luck! NOTE: PLEASE TAKE ONLY ONE RING WITH YOU SO OTHERS CAN ENJOY ATTEMPTING THE SERIES OF CACHES. WHEN YOU FIND THE THIRD AND FINAL CACHE (MORDOR), PLEASE DEPOSIT THE RING IN THE CACHE BOX.
