An old semi neglected cemetery. Please be respectful of those that rest here.
Take note of some of the family names! You may have seen one of them at Grovesend!!! The church used to be just to the west of the cemetery. It was torn down in the early 80's due to a change of demographics.
The road to the east used to lead back to a cabin called the Habitant. Story goes that Al Capone visited there in the 20's and it was used for smuggling booze to the States during prohibition.
In the 60's it used to belong to a classmates father, an Aylmer chiropractor, and we had our grade 9 and 10 class parties there. After it fell into the lake, the younger kids used to call it Devils Gates after the stone and iron gates at the entry to the property.
I've heard rumors that some guys used to take innocent young girls back there to scare their clothes off!!!! But that's another story!!!!
