Geocache Description:

Dinosaur Train is a PBS KIDS animated series produced by The Jim Henson Company that embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains, while encouraging basic scientific thinking skills as the audience learns about life science, natural history and paleontology. "Go outside, get into nature and make your own discoveries!" That is what Dr. Scott challenges his viewers to do at the end of each Dinosaur Train episode.

This cache is part of a series of Dinosaur Train themed geocaches placed nationwide at local PBS stations, zoos and museums. To find the location of other Dinosaur Train themed geocaches, simply search for "Dinosaur Train" in the keyword search option. Each geocache celebrates a dinosaur featured in the Dinosaur Train Field Guide. This is the 1st (and only) cache of this series in the NWPA area! This geocache is the Pteranodon geocache. This animal was a carnivore from the Cretaceous period. It didn't have teeth, but it likely used its beak to scoop fish out of the ocean - just like a modern-day pelican! The cache originally contains several dinosaur figures to trade, stickers and a Pteradactal TB. The cache is located at WQLN, Erie's PBS station (placed with permission!) Follow Sesame Street to the parking areas. The cache was originally less than 20 feet from parking, but has been moved farther into the woods so it hopefully won't disappear. What is your favorite dinosaur? Be sure to tell us when signing the logbook! Congrats to Erie Scouter for the FTF!
