VA Wine Trail - The Ghost at La Grange Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

kaliska47: I am archiving this geocache, as the location always seems to be vandalized. I will try to work on a better location later this year and see if I can get it up and running again. Thanks, and in the mean time, be sure to check out the other VA Wine Trail caches!

Geocache Description:

A unique way to enjoy Virginia’s growing wine culture! Check out the beautiful landscape and delicious wine as you hunt for a fun, historical cache.

Virginia is quickly becoming known for more than just lovers. Counties such as Loudoun and Shenandoah Valley are being reported in the top 10 up-and-coming wine regions. Locals are learning that a little country air, a couple bottles of wine, and a group of friends is the perfect way to relax after a long week working in and around DC.

Being both geocaching and wine enthusiasts, some friends and I have decided to start a VA Wine Trail of geocaches. We hope you enjoy!

Our first cache awaits you at the beautiful Winery at La Grange. The property owners have graciously allowed us to make this cache available during their tasting hours, 11am-6pm daily (closed Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).

Walking around the grounds, you will see multiple historic buildings, picnic areas, and beautiful scenery. After signing the logbook and selecting a treasure to exchange for one of your own, please return the cache for others to find and enjoy.

Congratulations to Gaiter Man for being the FTF!
