Podroben opis dogodkov boja za Predor Karavanke najdete na strani 22 in 23: (visit link) , v nadaljevanju pa bo sledil le kratek oseben opis dogajanja z južne strani obleganja mejnega platoja. V tem opisu najdete kar nekaj dejstev, ki javno niso nikjer omenjena ali zapisana.

Po prespani noči v Osnovni šoli na Jesenicah, so nas z avtobusom 30.6.91 prepeljali na najbližnjo varno lokacijo blizu mejnega platoja predora Karavanke. Oboroženi smo bili s puškami Kalašnik in vsak je imel le 150 nabojev. Da je bila puška brez nočnega merka in ročaj ob petelinu lesen in ne plastičen, je bil dokaz, da v rokah nimamo jugoslovanskih pušk.

Na točki 1, kjer smo že lahko zaznali prisotnost sovražnika in je poskočil adrenalin, se je večina prostovoljcev premislila in se vrnila domov.

Tudi mi v številu okrog 70 smo zavzeli položaje končne lokacije. Uporaba solzivca z naše strani je povzročila tankovsko izstrelitev dveh granat na severno stran obleganja platoja. Sledilo je vsesplošno nekaj minutno streljanje. Noč smo preživeli nekaj višje od dnevnih položajev, verjetno vsakdo z mislimi, kaj bo prineslo jutro. Spomnim se, da sem našel notranji mir šele, ko sem se v sebi sprijaznil, da je naslednji dan mogoče zadnji. Čeprav nismo imeli nič hrane, je niti nismo pogrešali.

Po jutranjem zavzetju položajev 1.7.91 je ob 8 uri tank zapeljal izpod strehe platoja in s cevjo krožno meril na naše položaje. K sreči do streljanja ni prišlo in po nekaj urah je sledila vdaja Jugoslovanske vojske in Zveznih policajev. Na mejni plato smo stopili po odvozu vojske in policije. Na asfaltu pod streho sem naštel cca 60 zelenih in 70 modrih čelad.

A detailed description of the events of the struggle for Karawanken Tunnel can be found on page 22 and 23: (visit link) , and then will be followed only a brief personal description of the events of the southern siege of the border plateau. In this description can be found some facts that are not public written anywhere.

After sleeping night in Primary school in Jesenice, we were 06/30/91in the morning transported by bus to the closest safe location from the border plateau Karavanken Tunnel. We were armed with rifles Kalašnik and each of us has only 150 bullets. That the rifles was without a night sight and with a wooden instead plastic handle at the trigger, it was a proof that we haven't Yugoslav rifles in the hands.

At point 1, where we were already detect the presence of the enemy, adrenaline jumped high and than most volunteers changed its mind and returned home.

We are in the number of about 70 solders took the positions at the final location. After launching of tear gas from our side, Yugoslav tank fire two bombs on the north side of the siege of the plateau. This was followed by indiscriminate firing for a few minutes. The night we spent a few positions higher than the daytime and probably everyone's thoughts, what will bring the morning. I remember that I have found inner peace in the moment when I reconciled myself that the next day can be last one. Although we had no food, we didn't miss it.

In the morning 01.07.91 we take the lower positions and at 8th the tank rolled off from the roof of the plateau and circulate with the barrel to the our positions. Fortunately, the shooting did not occur and after a few hours the Yugoslav Army and Federal policemens surrended. We step on the border plateau after the army and police was removed. On the asphalt under the roof I have listed about 60 green and 70 blue helmets.
