This cache is sited close to the home of the Queen's Guide to the Sands (Guides' Cottage) and the rail crossing was regularly used until recently by Cedric Robinson to access the foreshore with his tractors in order to go fishing and shrimping out on the bay. The level crossing is gated but unmanned. The pedestrian gates do not lock so caution is needed particularly with young children when crossing this busy railway line from Cart Lane. The cache can also be accessed from either Grange Promenade or Kents Bank station along the foreshore but this can be muddy at times and should not be attempted when the tides are high. The bird life out on the salt-marsh often includes twite and egrets as well as ducks and geese.
