Geocache Description:



We thought to offer visitors and locals alike, a few caches at historical sites within an easy walking tour or alternatively a bus tour.

This is not a Multi- cache. Each cache stands alone.

The Hop On – Hop Off Red City Bus Tour stops near all the mentioned buildings. This is stop 5



The foundations of the modern cathedral building was designed by Sir Herbert Baker and the foundation stone laid in 1901. However the first church on this sites was established in the 1830’s.
It is well worth visiting and seeing the largest stain-glass window in the Southern Hemisphere is a must. Arch-bishop Desmond Tutu spent many years in service here.
On 24th September 2014, St Georges Cathedral has received National Heritage status.
