Geocache Description:

Christ Church Hatherden was built in 1857. In 1975 it was struck by lightning and gutted by fire, leaving only the walls standing.

When the church was rebuilt, it was partitioned: the entrance vestibule has war memorial brasses on the west wall and a main area for worship.

The vestibule contains a memorial book with photographic records, and a tribute book with records of donations given to the project. The main area is cream and the walls are half panelled in light oak with light green carpeting. It is modern, light and airy, with chairs and is flexible. The matching altar and lectern have wrought iron and brass fittings. There is an exquisite ceramic font and accessories made at the Aldermaston pottery.

Parking by the church and you will need to bring your own pen.

If anybody would like to expand to this series please do, I would just ask that you could let Sadexploration know first so he can keep track of the Church numbers and names to avoid duplication.
