La Glacière du Fourneau
Sur la place du village sont exposées les machines les plus significatives d’une installation qui, au début du XXème siècle, fournissait en pains de glace les hôtels, restaurants, bars, bouchers, charcutiers… des environs.
Le compresseur était entraîné soit par une turbine à eau, soit par un moteur Winterthur à gaz de houille. Sans utilisation depuis 1936, cette machine fut sortie de l’oubli 60 ans plus tard par une équipe de passionnés et exposée statiquement.
Le moteur Winterthur et la charpente reproduite sont très représentatifs de la technique des années 1900.
The Ice machine of Fourneau
On the village square exhibits the most significant machinery of a plant which, in the early twentieth century, provided in blocks of ice for hotels, restaurants, bars, butchers ... the neighborhood.
The compressor was driven either by a water turbine or by an engine from Winterthur with coal gas. Without use since 1936, this machine was out of oblivion 60 years later by a team of passionate and exposed statically.
The Winterthur engine and frame are reproduced very representative of the technique for years 1900.
