Regular size cache set in a challenging position. There are 2 ways to access this cache, one is slightly easier. Hard is with the river on the left, only for those feeling brave and fit. If not follow the path round, past the ruined cottage on your right, this is the easier route up. If you have small geocachers with you extra care must be taken around the cache site.
The Teifi passes through a wood-lined gorge at Maesycrugiau, overlooked by a wonderfully situated 13 th century parish church. The church is open to visit most days of the week, but if you do find it locked there are directions on the church door to a nearby house where the keys are kept.
The bridge at Maesycrugiau is called Pontllwni and sturdily spans the fast-flowing river coming out of the gorge.
Walks
A ten minute stroll starting at the bridge will take you a short distance along the gorge and around the mound upon which the church stands.
Where this path passes a ruined cottage at the end of the gorge there is a fork off to the left, which can be taken to form a larger loop, returning to Maesycrugiau by small roads.
