Sequim is known throughout the USA for it’s Lavender. It even has the third weekend of July set aside for the Sequim Lavender Weekend once a year when the lavender is in bloom to celebrate. Aside from it’s lovely appearance, lavender has many uses: it is the source of an essential oil, it aids in sleep and relaxation, it is used in cooking in culinary varieties, it is used in floral arrangements and uses such as wands or bottles and mnay use it as a disinfectant or astringent. When used in soaps it removes the odor of garlic or fish from your hands.
I have found a new us for lavender and that is to be the focus of a geocaching series in the Dungeness Valley. This is a simple easy series of caches that have been placed on or near many of our celebrated field. Inside many of the caps will be a number clue to be applied to the final coordinates. In oprder to claim the final you must retrieve and log each of the clue caches in the series. Anyone who logs the final without having first logged all of the clue caches in the series will have their final log deleted. Also there is no need to enter onto the properties, do not block driveways and please replace as found. See GC3E59D for final information as well. Above all have fun.
