This ending makes a nice shortcut home from the firehall for some, but for most locals this road only leads to the recycling bins at the fire hall since Route 1 has caused its demise. Once leading over to Mayfield and the other ridges, this was a very popular street until it’s closure when the "Truck Route" went through.
Still called five corners, you have to look at a map view to see where the five used to meet, before Route 1 came through.
"Over and Under (and Not so Much)" … The Caches!
The face of many areas has been changed by modern transportation. In our quest to get there faster and more efficiently, we often take the high road and high speed – and we miss a lot along the way. This Series celebrates both where we are and where we have been, and the way things used to be…along Route 1 in southern NB.
Each cache in the series is named after a cacher who successfully solved the original puzzle at placement – or, after the 10th of March, 2012 (the VI Ides of March Event), any cacher who has completed all of the caches in the Series may request that a remaining unnamed cache in the series be named for them.
